Khalifah’s Catering Management Background
Kader Sultan Bin Abdul Rahman
Since four generations ago, Kader Sultan Bin Abdul Rahman had to start a business in Tanjung Dawai, Kedah in the early 1900s with the name Kedai Makan Ibrahim , which was founded by his grandfather Ibrahim.
When his bussines progressed, he has opened a branch at No 42, Kg. Tok Pasir , Kuala Kedah who shared his father, Abdul Rahman. In 1967 there was a fire and involve the destruction of about 3000 houses and shops. His father’s shop also burned. After the incident, we have moved and opened a new store with the name Kedai Makan Nasi Kandar located at Tanjung Bungah, Penang.
Datuk Hj Abdul Wahith Bin Sharfuddin
Datuk Hj Abdul Wahith Bin Sharfuddin already started the business in various fields since the early 1900s in Penang. His father had started the business that is Sharfuddin food in Singapore in 1969 and subsequently embarked on a joint business with his son Abdul Wahith Bin Sharfuddin in Petaling Jaya.
Datuk Hj Wahith with Kader Sultan has been doing business in a partnership in
Sungai Way Free Trade Zone for the supply of food to nearly 3,000 workers from
1981 to 1984.
Armed with this experience, Datuk Hj Abdul Wahith and Kader Sultan founded the first Khalifah Restaurant in Damansara Utama in 1984. After that, they open a second branch in Seksyen 3, Shah Alam in 1988.
During the opening of this second branch, catering services subsequently initiated known as the Khalifah’s Catering.
Once thriving, another branch was opened in Seksyen 7 and Seksyen 20, Shah Alam known as the Restoran Khulafa Sdn Bhd after the establishment of the Khalifah Industries Sdn Bhd in Sungai Buloh.
Kumpulan Khalifah and Khulafa has made a transformation by opening a branch in Star Sidewalk Cafe concept of ‘kopitiam’ in Seksyen 7 around 2008 and the next branch is in Cova Square, Kota Damansara in 2010
